The exhibition at the Lutz Museum was extensive and documented in the catalog published in the Menthe Wells artist’s history for the San Luis Obsipo Museum of Art. The Lutz exhibition showcased the extensive animated sculptures that were larger than the artist Menthe Wells.
Menthe, as she was called in the period of the earlier exhibition, had a solor, one person exhibition, of the larger than life sculptures. The Hartford Courant and other media Around the Art World Weekend notices invited viewers to the extensive exhibition.
The animated sculptural works were used for the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum Events and for the Museum’s outreach on CBS to the surrounding states. Menthe originated the concept, wrote the children’s plays, brought the characters alive with voices and directed and sang, danced and created the events. More history is available on these events and the outstanding Museum Exhibition which was also covered by the Hartford Courant and other media.
